Abstract:
An alertness level detection device mounted in a vehicle in order to detect the level of alertness of a driver is provided with: a stimulus information acquisition unit (16a) which detects that a new stimulus has occurred in the vision of the driver in the range of the field of view of the driver who is looking in the traveling direction of the vehicle, and acquires stimulus information relating to a time when the stimulus has occurred and a position where the stimulus has occurred in the range of the field of view; a face image capturing unit (14) which captures an image of the face of the driver; a line-of-sight position detection unit (16c) which detects the position of the line of sight of the driver by analyzing the image of the face; a movement time detection unit (16b) which detects a movement time from when the stimulus has occurred until when the line of sight moves to the position where the stimulus has occurred; and an alertness level determination unit (16d) which, on the basis of the movement time, determines the level of alertness of the driver.
