Abstract:

An aligning agent for liquid crystals which contains as a resin ingredient a polyimide precursor containing a chemical structure represented by formula (1) and another aligning agent for liquid crystals which contains as essential ingredients the above polyimide precursor and another polyimide precursor represented by general formula (2) (wherein Y represents a tetravalent aliphatic group; Z represents a divalent aromatic group; and R represents hydrogen or an alkyl).
