Abstract:

Disclosed is a method for aligning a honeycomb structure and a sealing mask, comprising: a step for fixing at a predetermined position an alignment mask with an opening; a step for arranging at a position facing the alignment mask the honeycomb structure, which has a plurality of through-holes, so that the contour of the external wall of an end surface of the honeycomb structure is visible at a predetermined position inside the opening; a step for removing the alignment mask from the predetermined position after said arrangement; and a step for arranging the sealing mask at a predetermined position after said removal. Specifically disclosed is an alignment method that, as a result of the above, can readily and correctly align the through-holes of the honeycomb structure and the through-holes of the sealing mask. Also disclosed is a honeycomb filter production method.
