Abstract:
The present invention relates to an alkali-based metal-treated activated carbon material for an automotive filter, and a preparation method therefor. The present invention relates to a method for preparing an alkali-based metal-treated activated carbon material for an automotive filter, comprising the steps of: preparing a mixture solution by dissolving activated carbon and an alkali metal precursor or an alkaline earth metal precursor in distilled water; preparing a first stirred solution by stirring the mixture solution at room temperature; adding an acid catalyst to the first stirred solution; preparing a second stirred solution by stirring the acid catalyst-added first stirred solution at room temperature; and preparing alkali metal oxide-activated carbon or alkaline earth metal oxide-activated carbon by filtering the second stirred solution, and then drying the same. According to the present invention, the alkali-based metal-treated activated carbon material for an automotive filter, having been prepared at a room temperature condition and through a process of adding an acid catalyst, has an effect of enabling the adsorption amount of carbon dioxide to be increased over that of a conventional activated carbon material.
