Abstract:
Disclosed is an alkaline battery comprising a negative electrode whose active material is a zinc or zinc alloy powder, an alkaline electrolyte solution, and a positive electrode. The zinc or zinc alloy powder has a specific surface area of 0.01-10 m2/g, and the weight ratio between the electrolyte solution and the negative electrode active material is within the range of 0.1-2. By having such a constitution, the alkaline battery is improved in liquid leakage resistance and high-rate discharge characteristics.
