Abstract:
An alkaline water electrolytic cell (50) has at least two outer frames (3), a gasket (7), and a diaphragm (4). The at least two outer frames (3) are laminated so as to overlap in at least a part in the circumferential direction. The gasket (7) is sandwiched between the two outer frames (3). The gasket (7) can be in contact with the outer frame (3) over the entire circumferential direction. A slit is formed along the circumferential direction on the inner peripheral surface of the gasket (7). The gasket (7) has a first protrusion part. The first protrusion part protrudes over the entire circumferential direction at a position overlapping the slit when viewed from the thickness direction of the slit. The diaphragm (4) is held in the gasket (7) in the slit. The volume ratio of the volume of the first protrusion part to the volume from the bottom surface of the slit to the end of the diaphragm (4) is 0.5-1.0.
