Abstract:
Disclosed are an all-optical modulator based on a micro-nano-fiber and a manufacturing method therefor, and a modulation system. The all-optical modulator comprises a micro-nano-fiber and a one-dimensional semiconductor nano-material, wherein an input fiber is located at one end of the micro-nano-fiber, a uniform area fiber segment is located in the middle of the micro-nano-fiber, and an output fiber is located at the other end of the micro-nano-fiber; a joint between the input fiber and the uniform area fiber segment is conical; the uniform area fiber segment is obtained by removing a coating layer from the middle of the fiber and performing a circular taper pulling operation on the part from which the coating layer has been removed; the joint between the output fiber and the uniform area fiber segment is conical; and the one-dimensional semiconductor nano-material is adsorbed onto the surface of the uniform area fiber segment. Since a one-dimensional semiconductor nano-material is less susceptible to chemical changes in the air than a two-dimensional material, the service life of the all-optical modulator is prolonged. The all-optical modulator has a simple structure and high modulation efficiency, and is susceptible to fiber coupling using a micro-nano-fiber, thereby reducing the connection loss.
