Abstract:
Provided is an alloy steel capable of reducing the maximum crystal grain size and reducing the variability of the crystal grain size after an M50-equivalent alloy is quenched. This alloy steel is formed of, in mass%, 0.70-0.95% of C, 0.05-0.35% of Si, 0.05-0.45% of Mn, 3.90-4.35% of Cr, 3.90-4.60% of one or more of Mo and W according to a relational formula of (Mo+W/2), and 0.80-1.20% of V, the remaining portion being Fe and unavoidable impurities. In addition, Al and N are contained so as to satisfy condition (1) and condition (2). Condition (1) stipulates that the amount of Al is 0.02% or more or that the amount of N is 0.005% or more, in mass%. Condition (2) stipulates that 7.5<-ln([Al]%×[N]%)<11.5 is satisfied.
