Title:
Α (ALPHA) ARRAY AND BUILDING BLOCKS OF CREATION
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/033521
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The α (alpha) array and the building blocks of creation are a geometric method that can be used to generate a perfect five-fold symmetry. The method of the invention can be used to generate a not-yet-identified perfect five-fold symmetry over the entire plane. It comprises: an origin (0); middle of a regular decagon, known as a "black hole" (1), surrounded by a zone known as the "horizon" (2); ten networks of parallel straight lines having as origin each of the sides of the black hole (1) and covering all of the plane. Five straight lines, known as the "hesitant straight lines" (4) pass through the black hole (1), each having two positioning possibilities, located symmetrically on each side of the origin (0), which, depending on their respective positions and over 180°, generate four possible states for the α (alpha) array: array α1; α2; α3; α4. Imaginary lines, known as "equators" (3), pass through the origin (0), taking the form of axes of symmetry in reflection for each of the α arrays. Basic blocks, known as the "building blocks of creation" (p. 3/6) generated by the intersection of the straight lines of the α array can be used to tile the plane with the least number of elements possible, while respecting the symmetrical effect of the α arrays. This method can be used to access a new form of symmetry hitherto thought to be impossible. The method of the invention is intended in particular for architecture, manufacturers of materials, designers of periodic and symmetrical structures on all scales.
