Abstract:
The present invention has a circuit switch element that switches a step-up/step-down bidirectional chopper circuit between a first chopper circuit and a second chopper circuit, and uses the first and second chopper circuits in combination when charging and discharging. The step-up/step-down bidirectional chopper circuit is disposed between a direct current bus and a power storage element, and the step-up/step-down properties of the first and second chopper circuits have a complementary relationship. Thereby obtained is an alternating current motor drive device fitted with a power storage device that can charge and discharge a power storage element regardless of the bus voltage for improved energy utilization efficiency.
