Abstract:
An alternating voltage control unit is provided with a magnetic energy recovery switch (1) comprising a bridge circuit comprising four reverse conductive type semiconductor switches (S1, S2, S3, S4) and a capacitor (2) that is connected between the direct-current terminals of the bridge circuit to recover the magnetic energy of an alternating-current load (3) at the time of switch disconnection, a controlling means (6) for complementarily turning on/off two pairs of switches located on the diagonal line of the bridge circuit, a compensating capacitor (Ccom) connected in parallel with an AC power source (4), a step-down transformer (7) for reducing the output voltage of the AC power source between the AC power source (4) and the magnetic energy recovery switch (1), and a reactor (5). The controlling means (6) makes the capacitor (2) to generate the voltage compensating for the reactance voltage portion of the alternating-current load by controlling the phase of the gate control signal of the reverse conductive type semiconductor switches synchronously with the voltage of the AC power source (4), and controls the load voltage applied to the alternating-current load (3).
