Abstract:
Provided are an alumina ceramic having excellent light reflection characteristics and a substrate for mounting a light-emitting element using the alumina ceramic. An alumina ceramic is obtained by dispersing alumina ceramic particles that contain a Ba0.808Al1.71Si2.29O8 phase and alumina ceramic particles that do not contain a phase including Ba. It is possible to obtain excellent light reflection characteristics by means of this type of ceramic particle configuration. Moreover, a substrate (1) for mounting a light-emitting element uses this alumina ceramic.
