Abstract:
Provided are alumina hydrate particles for use in electrical wire/cable covering material which can further improve fire-retardant properties and mechanical properties while maintaining acid-resistance, a flame retardant, a resin composition, an electrical wire/cable, and production methods therefor. The alumina hydrate particles for use in electrical wire/cable covering material are characterized in that the mean particle diameter thereof is 0.5 to 2.5 μm, and the primary particle variation R, determined by the following formula, is 24% or less. Primary particle variation R(%)=standard deviation σ (μm) of primary particle major diameter/mean value(μm) of primary particle major diameter × 100
