Abstract:
The present invention relates to an aluminium alloy for extrusion moulding having outstanding strength and workability, in which the extrusion moulding properties and the mechanical strength and workability are improved so as to be suitable for production as a cityscape material such as a streetlight or a railing, fence or handrail. The aluminium alloy of the present invention comprises 0.95-1.05wt% of Si, 0.85-0.95wt% of Mg, 0.65-0.75wt% of Mn, 0.1-0.2wt% of Cu, 0.1-0.2wt% of Zn, 0.13-0.18wt% of Cr, no more than 0.25wt% of Fe and no more than 0.03wt% of Ti, as well as unavoidable impurities in amounts of no more than 0.02wt% for each separate constituent and no more than 0.10wt% in total, and a balance of Al. The present invention exhibits the characteristic that the extrusion moulding properties and the mechanical strength and workability are substantially improved, by having the content of Mg, Mn and Cu adjusted to a composition distinctively different from an existing 6000 series aluminium alloy.
