Abstract:
Disclosed are: an aluminum alloy sheet for a magnetic disk, the sheet comprising 0.1-3.0 mass% (hereinafter, simply represented as "%") of Fe, 0.1-3.0% of Mn, 0.003-1.000% of Cu, and 0.005-1.000% of Zn, wherein, in a region (A) covering not more than 25% of the sheet thickness from the sheet-thickness central plane toward both surfaces of the sheet, second-phase particles in which the largest length therein is 100-300 μm are dispersed in a distribution density of 50 particles/mm2, in a region (C) obtained by subtracting the region (A) from a region (B) covering not more than 50% of the sheet thickness from the sheet-thickness central plane toward both surfaces of the sheet, the distribution density of the second-phase particles in which the largest length therein is 100-300 μm is 0 particles/mm2 and the amount of Mn present in the form of a solid solution is at least 0.03%; a production method for said aluminum alloy sheet for a magnetic disk; and a magnetic disk using said aluminum alloy sheet.
