Abstract:
This aluminum alloy substrate for a magnetic disk is characterized: by comprising an aluminum alloy which contains one or more elements selected from the group consisting of 0.05-3.00 mass% (hereinafter abbreviated to "%") of Fe, 0.05-3.00% of Mn, 0.05-18.00% of Si, 0.05-8.00% of Ni, 0.05-3.00% of Cr and 0.05-3.00% of Zr, with the remainder comprising Al and unavoidable impurities; and in that the Young's modulus is 67 GPa or more in directions of 0°, 45° and 90° from the direction in which the substrate is rolled. Also provided are a method for producing the aluminum alloy substrate, and a magnetic disk obtained using the aluminum alloy substrate for a magnetic disk.
