Abstract:
An aluminum alloy tube shaped hollow material, which is fabricated by porthole extrusion, is characterized in that: the aluminum alloy tube shaped hollow material is formed from an Al-Mg based alloy that includes 0.7% by mass or more to less than 2.5% by mass Mg and greater than 0% by mass and 0.15% by mass or less Ti with the remainder being formed from Al and inevitable impurities; the work hardening exponent n value is 0.25 or greater and less than 0.43; the aluminum alloy tube shaped hollow material has an inside surface having a convex structure; and in a cross-section perpendicular to the direction of elongation of the aluminum alloy tube shaped hollow material, the area ratio of the inside surface convex structure is 1 – 30%. The present invention makes it possible to provide an aluminum alloy tube shaped hollow material of 5000 series aluminum alloy fabricated by porthole extrusion and having superior bendability.
