Abstract:
The present invention provides e.g. an aluminum alloy wire material having improved plating properties without particular deterioration in mechanical characteristics. This aluminum alloy wire material has a composition comprising 0.1-1.0 mass% Mg, 0.1-1.2 mass% Si, 0.10-1.40 mass% Fe, 0-0.100 mass% Ti, 0-0.030 mass% B, 0-1.00 mass% Cu, 0-0.50 mass% Ag, 0-0.50 mass% Au, 0-1.00 mass% Mn, 0-1.00 mass% Cr, 0-0.50 mass% Zr, 0-0.50 mass% Hf, 0-0.50 mass% V, 0-0.50 mass% Sc, 0-0.50 mass% Co, 0-0.50 mass% Ni, and Al and inevitable impurities as the remainder, wherein: the number of compounds present on the surface and having a diameter of 1 µm or greater in terms of circle-equivalent diameter is 1 or fewer per 100 µm2; and the tensile strength is 200 MPa or greater.
