Abstract:
An aluminum alloy for high-temperature and high-speed forming which contains Mg: 2.0 to 8.0mass%, Mn: 0.05 to 1.0mass%, Zr: 0.01 to 0.3mass%, Si: 0.06 to 0.4mass%, and Fe: 0.06 to 0.4mass% with the balance being Al and unavoidable impurities; an aluminum alloy to be subjected to the high-temperature and high-speed forming process comprising forming at 200 to 550°C and a strain rate of 10-2 to 10/sec and subsequent cooling to room temperature at a rate of 20°C/min or above, which consists of Mg: 2.0 to 8.0%, Mn: 0.05 to 1.5%, Cr: 0.05 to 0.4%, Fe: 0.4% or below, and Si: 0.4% or below with the balance being Al and in which the Cr-containing intermetallic compounds formed in melting and casting have sizes of 20μm or below and intermetallic compound particles of 50 to 1000nm are present in an amount of 350,000 particles/mm2 or above as Mn- and Cr-containing precipitates; and processes for the production of both.
