Abstract:
An aluminum base die to be used in producing stampers having a fine rugged structure on the surface, said aluminum base die comprising aluminum and magnesium, wherein: the magnesium content is 0.1-3 mass%; the silicon content is not more than 100 mass ppm; the sum of the contents of elements other than aluminum and magnesium is not more than 500 mass ppm; and, on the surface of the aluminum base die for stampers, the count of magnesium silicide particles having an equivalent diameter of 10 nm or greater is 10/1000 μm2 or less.
