Abstract:

Provided is an AM device for producing a sculpted object. The AM device comprises a DED nozzle. The DED nozzle comprises: a main DED nozzle body; a laser port provided at the tip of the main DED nozzle body, for emitting a laser light; a laser passage communicating with the laser port, for passing the laser light through the interior of the main DED nozzle body; a powder port provided at the tip of the main DED nozzle body, for emitting a powder material; and a powder passage communicating with the powder port, for passing the powder material through the interior of the main DED nozzle body. The AM device also comprises a cover surrounding the laser port and the powder port of the DED nozzle and whereof the downstream-side in the laser light emission direction is open. The cover comprises a gas supply path for supplying a gas to the interior of the cover, and the orientation of the gas supply path is defined in such a manner as to guide the gas toward the main DED nozzle body.
