Description:
An Ambu Adapter

Technical Field

The invention relates to respiratory devices consisting of a mask and a balloon- shaped ambu, used to deliver air to patients whose breathing has stopped or who are breathing poorly.

Prior Art

Respirators consisting of a mask and a balloon are used to deliver air to patients whose breathing has stopped or who are breathing poorly. Said respirator is also known as ambu bag or manual resuscitator. The Ambu bag is a widely used tool for supplying positive pressure ventilation to patients who are unable to breathe or have difficulty in breathing.

With the manual resuscitators used in the prior art, positive pressure ventilation is delivered to the patients. While providing respiratory support to the patients, the exhaust (through the inspirium) of the patient goes directly to the environment without protection. The possibility of possible viruses and bacteria in the outgoing exhaust to be inhaled by the people in the environment is inevitable. This increases the risk of transmission of viruses and bacteria to people in the environment. In the prior art, there is no resuscitator device in which the polluted air exit from the patient is filtered.

In the American patent document with the code US2008087285 included in the prior art, an adjustable multi-functional carrying strap for the ambu bag is mentioned. With said carrying strap, the ambu bag can be adjusted loosely or tightly. The carrying strap allows for one-hand operation so that the ambu bag can be operated with one hand. While holding and using the ambu bag with one hand, the mask is held with the other hand. In this way, an effective rescue apparatus is obtained. Additionally, the carrying strap allows the ambu bag to be carried with one hand or hung on the wall for backup. While providing respiratory support to the patients in the aforementioned ambu adapter, the exhaust (coming out through inspirium) of the patient goes directly to the environment without any protection.

Purpose of the Invention

The purpose of the invention is to obtain a respiratory device in which air escapes are prevented while giving respiratory support to the patients or during the removal of polluted air from the patients.

Another purpose of the invention is to obtain a respiratory device that prevents the contaminated air exhaust (coming out through inspirium) of the patient from going directly to the environment without protection while providing respiratory support to the patients.

The respiratory devices developed to achieve the mentioned purposes; in order to prevent possible bacteria and viruses in the contaminated air (80) from being released into the environment, while providing respiratory support to the patients, to prevent the contaminated air (80) coming out of the patient from being released to the outside environment through the filtering and possible air escapes during the delivery of the clean air coming from the body (10) to the patient or the absorbing the polluted air from the patient, including; ambu adapter (40) with adapter threads (42) for mounting with a body elbow connector (50) and a contaminated air outlet (41) for directing exhaust contaminated air (80) to the filter during exhalation, and a body elbow connector (50) with connector threads (54) that prevent possible air and/or oxygen escape from the connection place by locking with adapter threads (42) on said ambu adapter (40). (80) Contaminated air Explanation of the Invention

The invention relates to respiratory devices consisting of a mask and a balloon shaped ambu, used to deliver air to patients whose breathing has stopped or who are breathing poorly. Respirator, which is the subject of the invention includes body (10), upper elbow connector (20), connector (30), safety ambu adapter (40), body elbow connector (50), body check valve (60) and lower bag connector (70).

The breathing apparatus of the invention is used to give air to patients whose breathing has stopped or who are breathing insufficiently. Air is supplied to the patient through the contaminated air inlet (31). The clean air taken by the patient is directed to the filter through the contaminated air outlet (41) during exhalation.

There is an upper elbow connector (20) on the body (10). There is a body elbow connector (50) on the upper elbow connector (20). The upper elbow connector (20) guides the body elbow connector (50).

The body elbow connector (50) ensures that the contaminated air (80) given by the patient is transmitted to the ambu adapter (40). The contaminated air (80) comes out from the contaminated air outlet (41) on the safety ambu adapter (40) and is directed to the hepafilter from there. The body elbow connector (50) delivers the contaminated air (80) to the ambu adapter, as well as providing the delivery of fresh air and/or oxygen coming from the body (10) to the patient.

The ambu adapter (40), which is the subject of the invention, ensures that the contaminated air (80) is directed to the contaminated air outlet (41) without being released to the outside environment. A filter is positioned at the contaminated air outlet (41). A hepafilter is preferably used as a filter. With the hepafilter placed at the contaminated air outlet (41) the air coming from the patient is filtered and released to the outside environment. In this way, all kinds of viruses and bacteria that may be present in the patient are prevented from being released into the room environment. In alternative applications of the invention, it can be used in different filters that hold microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses. Check valve (60) is located in the lower part of the body (10). The check valve (60) prevents the air/oxygen from escaping back while giving air and/or oxygen to the patient. Just below the check valve (60), there is the lower bag connector (70). At the bottom of the lower bag connector (70), fresh air suction (71) inlets are located. Fresh ambient air or oxygen from any source can be taken over the fresh air suction (71) and given to the patient.

The connector (30) is the part where the contaminated air inlet (31) is made. Said connector (30) also provides fresh air inlet to the patient through the body (10). Fresh air outlet and/or contaminated air inlet (31) to the patient is made via connector (30). The connector (30) is fixed to the ambu adapter (40) via the connector connection part (43).

Ambu adapter (40) is fixed on body elbow connector (50). Said fixing is done with the adapter threads (42) on the ambu adapter (40) and the connector threads (54) on the body elbow connector (50). Possible air escape is prevented by the adapter threads (42) and connector threads (54).

There is a check valve (60) in the lower part of the body (10). The check valve (60) prevents the contaminated air (80) from descending from the body (10). In this way, the contaminated air (80) is directed to the ambu adapter (40).

There are valve lockers (51), valve stopper (52) and gasket (53) on the body elbow connector (50). The valve locker (51) and valve stopper (52) are used to adjust the amount/pressure of air coming from the body (10). Gasket (53), on the other hand, prevents air escape over the valve locker (51) and/or valve stopper (52) during adjustment and/or while the air flow continues.

A breathing device consisting of a mask and a balloon-shaped ambu, used to provide air to patients whose breathing has stopped or who are breathing insufficiently and is characterized in that; in order to prevent possible bacteria and viruses in the contaminated air (80) from being released into the environment, while providing respiratory support to the patients, to prevent the contaminated air (80) coming out of the patient from being released to the outside environment through the filtering and possible air escapes during the delivery of the clean air coming from the body (10) to the patient or the absorbing the polluted air from the patient, including; - ambu adapter (40) with adapter threads (42) for mounting with a body elbow connector (50) and a contaminated air outlet (41) for directing exhaust contaminated air (80) to the filter during exhalation, and a body elbow connector (50) with connector threads (54) that prevent possible air and/or oxygen escape from the connection place by locking with adapter threads (42) on said ambu adapter (40).
