Abstract:
This ambulation assistance device comprises: rails; a movable body that is movable along the rails; a support member that is supported by the movable body and supports the body portion of a user; a driving device that causes the movable body to move along the rails; a sensor that is provided on the movable body or support member, and detects a load on the support member toward the front in the direction of travel from the user; and a control device that causes the support member to move along the rails by controlling the driving device such that, in a condition in which the user is applying the load on the support member, the load toward the front in the direction of travel detected by the sensor matches a target load.
