Abstract:
An amide compound of general formula (I) and a pharmacologically acceptable salt or optical isomer thereof, wherein R1 represents C1 to C4 alkoxy; R2 represents H or a group which is combined with R1 to form an oxyethylene group which may be substituted with at least one C1 to C4 alkyl group; R3 represents -S(O)mR5 (wherein R5 represents C1 to C4 alkyl or optionally substituted phenylalkyl, and m is 0.1 or 2) or -SO2NR6R7 (wherein R6 and R7 each represents H or C1 to C4 alkyl); and R4 represents C6 to C15 alkyl or optionally substituted phenylalkyl, provided that when R4 represents optionally substituted phenylalkyl, R1 and R2 are combined together to form an oxyethylene group substituted with two C1 to C4 alkyl groups. These compounds are useful for treating schizophrenia, dystrophy, emotional disturbance, and mental or physical diseases, inhibiting vomiting, and treating diarrhea and unidentified clinical syndromes of the digestives system caused by stress or emotional strain.
