Abstract:
The objective of the present invention is to provide an adsorbent that can adsorb ammonia without a large change in volume during adsorption and desorption, that also has a high ammonia and/or ammonium ion adsorption capacity, and that can be additionally endowed with functionality by appropriate control over composition, etc. The present invention makes it possible to provide an adsorbent that: adsorbs ammonia and/or ammonium ions through the use of a metal cyano complex as an ammonia adsorbent; experiences minimal change in volume in such circumstances; exhibits adequately high capacity for adsorbing ammonia and/or ammonium ions; and enables a function for decomposing ammonia, and a function for varying optical response before and after adsorption, etc.
