An amphibious vehicle includes a chassis frame (1), a ship-shaped carriage (2), a lifting device (5), a land travel device (3), and a water propulsion device (4). The chassis frame (1) and the ship-shaped carriage (2) can be controlled to change positions via the lifting device (5).When on land, the ship-shaped carriage (2) is above the chassis frame (1) or has a certain ground gap. The amphibious vehicle travels on land via the chassis frame (1) and the land travel device (3). When in water, the ship-shaped carriage (2) is lowered by the lifting device (5). A buoyancy force is generated when the ship-shaped carriage (2) is in water. The chassis frame (1) and the land travel device (3) are above the waterline entirely. The amphibious vehicle travels in water via the water propulsion device (4), etc. Since the ship-shaped carriage (2) has a streamline ship shape, the resistance in the water is small and the amphibious vehicle travels in water like a current ship. Since the land travel device (3) and the chassis frame (1) are raised or lowered together, the brake device, the steering device, the suspension device and the transmission device, all of which are required by land travel, can adopt the same constructions as those of a conventional vehicle. Thus, the amphibious vehicle has a low cost and a high reliability.
