Abstract:
Disclosed is an amphipathic multifunctional hybrid nanoparticle. The surface of the particle is attached with both a detachable hydrophilic organic polymer having a water-soluble long chain, and a hydrophobic long hydrocarbon functional group. The main body of the nanoparticle is silicon dioxide or an organic functional group substituted silicon dioxide or an organic functional group substituted silicon-oxygen bond network. The inside of the nanoparticle contains a free organosiloxane having a hydrophobic long hydrocarbon functional group, and a fatty acid or a fatty acid ester or a fatty acid aluminium complex having a hydrophobic long hydrocarbon functional group. The nanoparticle significantly decreases the water permeability of cement-based materials. Hydration products and interfaces within a cement-based material which uses the hybrid nanoparticle are subject to hydrophobisation, further reducing the possibility of harmful particles corroding the cement-based material via water permeation, and thus significantly improving the impermeability. In addition, Si-Al oxides participate in hydration reactions, and the matrix of the cement-based material is compacted, which helps to improve the mechanical performance.
