Abstract:
An amplification medium performance simulation device for modeling a gain fluctuation of other than a signal wave periphery in a short time by introducing a simple approximation equation. The device includes a basic data holding section (21) for holding basic data on an amplification medium, an input signal light information holding section (22) for holding an input signal light wavelength value and an optical power value as information on the input signal light to be input to the amplification medium to be simulated, and a simulation execution section (31) for using the contents held in the basic data holding section (21) and the input signal light information holding section (22) so as to approximately calculate the output signal light power output from the amplification medium for each signal light wavelength including the ion distribution fluctuation at the start level in the amplification medium by input of the input signal light and output the calculation result as the result of simulation of the amplification medium performance.
