Abstract:
The present invention relates to a peptide capable of directly binding to amyloid beta protein Aβ42, known to be a causative agent of Alzheimer's disease, and a composition for treating and preventing Alzheimer's disease, comprising the peptide. The peptide of the present invention can be used to prevent fibrosis and oligomerization of amyloid beta, and thus can be used for the treatment and prevention of amyloidogenic disease such as Alzheimer's disease. In addition, the peptide of the present invention can be used to detect amyloid beta, and thus can be used for diagnosis of amyloidogenic disease such as Alzheimer's disease.
