Abstract:

A novel means that is effective for analgesia and sedation is disclosed. An analgesic agent and sedative agent of the present invention contains, as active ingredients, disulfiram, a metal complex of diethyldithiocarbamate, a disulfide capable of producing diethyldithiocarbamate in the body, pharmaceutically acceptable salts of these compounds, or solvates of these compounds or salts. Disulfiram and the abovementioned metal complexes are known to have antitumor effects and anti-inflammatory effects. The agent can thus bring about multiple benefits in treatments such as anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and sedative treatments in cancer patients.
