Abstract:
It is intended to provide novel pharmacological effects of a urea derivative. As the results of studies on the angiogenesis inhibitory and tumor proliferation inhibitory effects of the urea derivative by using the hypoxia-induced retinal angiogenesis method, it is revealed that this urea derivative has excellent angiogenesis inhibitory and tumor proliferation inhibitory effects and, therefore, is useful as a preventive and a remedy for diseases in which angiogenesis participates, in particular, diabetic retinopathy, retinopathy of prematurity, macular degeneration, angiogenic glaucoma, retinal vein obstruction, retinal artery obstruction, pterygium, rubeosis, corneal neovascularization, solid tumor, angioma, tumor proliferation/metastasis, etc.
