Abstract:
Provided is a technique whereby the angle of a measurement object in a remote location can be measured. An angle detection system (90) is provided with an encoder pattern unit (13) attached to a measurement object (14), and a surveying device (50). The encoder pattern unit (13) is provided with a columnar base (13A) and an encoder pattern (13B) indicating an angle in the circumferential direction with respect to a predetermined reference direction, the encoder pattern (13B) being provided on the outer circumferential surface of the base (13A), the encoder pattern (13) is provided with a reflecting material layer (120) for retroreflection of incident light, and an encoder pattern layer (130) disposed on the front surface of the reflecting material layer (120), the encoder pattern layer (130) is constituted from a combination of a first polarizing filter (130a) for transmitting a light component polarized in a first direction and a second polarizing filter (130b) for transmitting a light component polarized in a second direction different from the first direction, and the surveying device (50) is provided with a reading-light transmission unit (69) for emitting reading light toward the encoder pattern (130B), an information acquisition unit (55) for optically acquiring information indicated by the encoder pattern (13), a computation control unit (64) for computing the angle (θT) of the surveying device (50) with respect to the reference direction on the basis of the information, and a first or second polarizing filter (55B) disposed on the optical path of light which is emitted from the reading-light transmission unit (69), reflected by the encoder pattern (13B), and incident on a light-receiving surface of the information acquisition unit (55).
