Title:
ANGULAR DISCRIMINATION OF ACOUSTICAL OR RADIO SIGNALS
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2005/109951
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for angular discrimination of communication signals are described. Two sensors spatially separated from each other sample their captured signals and transform them in a given transform kernel (e.g. Fourier) into two transformed signals. If the phase difference between the transformed signals for each kernel bin (e.g. frequency band) is greater than a phase difference threshold, a first transformed signal is filtered, inverse transformed and output to a listener. The method and apparatus can be employed in hearing aids or microphone systems.
