Abstract:
This anion exchange membrane type aqueous electrolytic cell comprises, in the stated order: a conductive first barrier wall; a plate-shaped first conductive porous member in which at least an anode liquid and a gas can flow in an in-plane direction; an anion exchange membrane; a plate-shaped second conductive porous member in which at least a gas can flow; and a conductive second barrier wall. An anode chamber is demarcated between the first barrier wall and the anion exchange membrane, and a cathode chamber is demarcated between the second barrier wall and the anion exchange membrane. The first conductive porous member and the the first barrier wall are at least in electrical contact, and the second conductive porous member and the second barrier wall are at least in electrical contact. The flow field in which the anode liquid passes through the first conductive porous member is arranged in series with a flow where the anode liquid flows into the anode chamber through an anode liquid inflow channel and out through an anode liquid/gas outflow channel.
