Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a blood transmission cannula that is usable in the extracorporeal circulation of blood with the use of an artificial heart-lung machine, said blood transmission cannula being to be inserted into the femoral artery in such a manner that the tip thereof is positioned in the ascending aorta, and transmitting blood, which is supplied from an artificial heart-lung machine, from the ascending aorta to the descending aorta to thereby assure completely antegrade blood transmission.
[Solution] An antegrade blood transmission cannula that comprises an inner tube (1) that is provided with a blood delivery port (1a) in the tip side and a blood introduction port (1b) in the base side and an outer tube (2) that is to be fitted to the inner tube (1), wherein: a circular return channel (20) is formed between these tubes (1) and (2); the outer tube (2) is closed in the tip side (2a) and the base side (2b) and provided with a number of blood-releasing holes (3) facing the circular return channel (20); and, when blood is delivered from the blood delivery port (1a), the blood is inverted to flow into the circular return channel (20) and then released via the blood-releasing holes (3) into the aortas (A1, A2) in the antegrade direction.
