Abstract:
The application relates to the field of antennas, and specifically, to an antenna having a reconfigurable radiation pattern, and a communication apparatus. The antenna having a reconfigurable radiation pattern comprises a substrate, a metal loop, a metal piece, a matching network, a first switch, and a second switch. The first switch is connected in series with an opening of the metal loop. The metal loop is broken at the opening at the circumference of the metal loop. With respect to the circumference of the metal loop, the substrate and the metal piece are respectively located at two sides of the metal loop and are arranged opposite to each other. The metal piece is connected to the metal loop, and is not perpendicular to the substrate. A gap is arranged between the substrate and the metal loop and along a direction in parallel to the circumference. The substrate comprises a feed source and a connection ground. The metal piece is connected via the matching network to the connection ground and the feed source, respectively. The second switch is arranged between the metal loop and the substrate, and has one end connected to the connection ground of the substrate, and the other end connected to the metal loop. The first switch, the second switch, and the metal piece are located at different locations at the circumference. By employing the metal loop, the embodiment is utilized to implement the antenna having a reconfigurable radiation pattern and operating at frequencies less than 1GHz.
