Abstract:
[PROBLEMS] To provide an antenna capable of reducing the total magnetic flux amount emitted outside from the antenna, preventing lowering of reception sensitivity by an eddy current loss, and improving the antenna reception performance, and a radio receiver having the antenna. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The antenna includes a columnar magnetic core; an antenna body formed by a winding portion having a conductive line wound around the magnetic core; and an antenna cover having an antenna body containing portion for containing the antenna body. When the antenna body is contained in the antenna cover, at least one face of the antenna body is covered by the antenna cover and the end of the antenna body is in contact with or magnetically connected with the antenna body containing portion. The antenna is mounted on a radio control clock of the wrist watch type which requires a small size and a light weight. Thus, it is possible to provide a radio control clock assuring a reception level of a sufficient standard radio wave.
