Disclosed is a novel anthrapyridone compound represented by the formula (1) below in the form of a free acid. Also disclosed are an ink composition containing such an anthrapyridone compound and a colored body using such an ink composition. An image recorded by using an inkjet recording ink containing such a compound has high definition while exhibiting excellent light resistance and ozone gas resistance. (1) (In the formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or the like; R2 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, a phenyl group, a phenoxy group or the like; R3 represents a hydrogen atom or a methoxy group; X represents an anilino group which may have a substituent such as a sulfonic acid group, a naphthylamino group which may be substituted with a sulfonic acid group, a mono- or dialkylamino group which may have a substituent such as a sulfonic acid group, an aralkylamino group, a cycloalkylamino group, a phenoxy group which may have a substituent such as a sulfonic acid group, a hydroxyl group, an amino group or the like; and Y represents a chlorine atom, a hydroxyl group, an amino group or the like.)
