Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to provide an oil-in-water emulsion type anti-foaming agent which is excellent in terms of anti-foaming properties (initial anti-foaming properties and long-lasting anti-foaming properties) and stability (emulsion stability).
The invention is an oil-in-water emulsion type anti-foaming agent characterized by containing hydrophilic fumed silica (C) and being obtained by emulsifying or dispersing an oil phase (A) in an aqueous phase (B). The contents of the oil phase (A), the hydrophilic fumed silica (C), and the aqueous phase (B), based on the weight of the oil phase (A), hydrophilic fumed silica (C), and aqueous phase (B), are preferably 10-50 wt.%, 0.1-6 wt.%, and 44-89.9 wt.%, respectively. The weight ratio of the oil phase (A) to the hydrophilic fumed silica (C), A/C, is preferably 2-100.
