Title:
ANTI-HIV ANTIBODY AND METHOD FOR PRODUCING SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/090747
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present inventors conducted intensive studies on an antibody capable of resulting in HIV virus control over a long period of time at a high possibility in a group with sole administration thereof once or several times. As a result, the present inventors surprisingly found that, when SW-1C10 antibody, which was obtained by producing an antibody gene reported as 1C10 in silkworms, was solely administered only a few times, the number of viruses in the blood was suppressed to the detection limit or lower at an early stage in all of individuals administered therewith and, moreover, the viral RNA in the blood was maintained at the detection limit or lower for a long time of 12 weeks. In conventional antibody production methods using silkworms, the antibody yields roughly amount to several hundred g/cocoon or several μg/mg of cocoon. No attempt had been made hitherto to increase the productivity. The present inventors conducted intensive studies to find, from among a large number of anti-HIV antibodies, an antibody that can be produced at a higher yield by silkworms. As a result, the present inventors found that 1C10 antibody and 1D9 antibody, both being anti-HIV antibodies, were produced in silk threads of silkworms at higher yields than the conventional yields.
