Abstract:
The present invention relates to gene segregation and plant improvement, and in particular, to an anti-spotted wilt gene RTSW from tobacco and a use thereof. Provided are a nucleic acid molecule for conferring or enhancing the resistance of a plant to orthotospoviruses, and an expression cassette, a vector, a host cell, a plant, and a seed containing the nucleic acid molecule. The nucleic acid molecule encodes an RTSW gene product or a variant thereof. Also provided is a method for conferring or enhancing the resistance of a plant to orthotospoviruses, comprising: introducing the nucleic acid molecule into a plant cell.
