Abstract:
Disclosed is an anti-viral fiber product for use in sanitary applications (e.g., tissue paper, napkins, towels, masks, clothing for sanitary applications, anti-viral filters), which is impregnated with an anti-viral agent, has an excellent activity to inactivate non-enveloped viruses or enveloped viruses and is highly safe for human bodies. The anti-viral fiber product is characterized by comprising: an anti-viral agent or a composition comprising the anti-viral agent and an alcohol, a surfactant, an anti-bacterial agent, a moisturizing agent and the like; and a fibrous base, such as paper, a woven fabric and an unwoven fabric, which is impregnated with the anti-viral agent or the composition. In the anti-viral fiber product, the anti-viral agent is one against non-enveloped viruses or enveloped viruses, and comprises, as an active ingredient, a persimmon extract which is produced by heating a tannin-containing squeezed juice or extract from a fruit of a Diospyros plant or treating the tannin-containing squeezed juice or extract with an alcohol to deactivate an enzyme contained in the squeezed juice or extract and derived from the Diospyros plant.
