Abstract:
Disclosed is an anti-viral vaccine for fish, which comprises double-stranded RNA and a pathogenic virus as active ingredients. Also disclosed is an immunostimulating agent for fish, which comprises double-stranded RNA as an active ingredient. A fish is administered with double-stranded RNA. Alternatively, a fish is administered with double-stranded RNA, and is exposed to a pathogenic virus, particularly a pathogenic virus that is not subjected to any treatment (i.e., a live virus) or that is attenuated, to cause the intake of the pathogenic virus by the fish. In this manner, the immunity can be induced, stimulated, modified or enhanced in a fish of interest after or simultaneously with the induction of an anti-viral state in the fish.
