Abstract:
It is intended to provide an antibacterial agent originating in a natural material, which remains safe in regular use and has an excellent antibacterial effect, and an antibacterial composition containing this antibacterial agent. Namely, an antibacterial agent comprising an extract of Eysenhardtia adenostylis or an isoflavane compound, or an antibacterial agent containing, as the active ingredient, an extract of Eysenhardtia adenostylis or an isoflavane compound. The above-described antibacterial agent is applicable to cosmetics including quasi drugs, drugs, foods and so on. Furthermore, the above-described antibacterial composition containing the antibacterial agent may be in the form of cosmetics including quasi drugs, drugs or foods.
