Abstract:
An antibacterial nonwoven fabric, in particular, an antibacterial nonwoven fabric that in the use in applications in which only one major surface of nonwoven fabric has to be antibacterial, is economically advantageous and utilizes the bactericidal action of silver suitable to particular use in applications in which the nonwoven fabric is brought into direct contact with human body. There is provided an antibacterial nonwoven fabric comprising a nonwoven fabric whose one major surface only is coated with silver. When the nonwoven fabric is made of an organic material, for attaining appropriate production of an antibacterial nonwoven fabric, there is employed a process comprising coating only one major surface of nonwoven fabric of organic material with silver according to the magnetron sputtering method.
