The purpose of the present invention is to provide an antibacterial porous material that does not utilize photocatalytic action. This antibacterial porous material, in which particles containing a platinum group metal are supported on porous silica, is characterized in that the pore diameter of the antibacterial porous material is 1-50 nm, and the BET specific surface area is 300-2000m2/g.
