Abstract:
Provided is a composition for forming a highly environmentally safe antifouling coating film capable of maintaining coating film dissolution over an extended period of time even after long-term exposure to sunlight and actualizing good antifouling performance even on the underbody where adhesion of aquatic fouling organisms is likely to occur. The present invention provides an antifouling coating composition containing a copolymer A, a carboxylic acid silyl ester B, and a monocarboxylic acid metal salt C, wherein the copolymer A is obtained by copolymerizing a mixture of a monomer (a), a monomer (b), and an ethylenic unsaturated monomer (c), the monomer (a) is represented by general formula (1), the monomer (b) is represented by general formula (2), and the carboxylic acid silyl ester B is a silyl ester of a carboxylic acid other than an ethylenic unsaturated carboxylic acid.
