Title:
ANTIGLARE FILM, ANTIGLARE POLARIZER, PROCESS FOR PRODUCING SAME, AND TRANSIMISSIVE LIQUID-CRYSTAL DISPLAY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2010/035761
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
An antiglare film which has antiglare properties, which are the primary function of antiglare films, has a high contrast, and inhibits screen glittering on a high level.  Also provided are a process for producing the antiglare film and a transmissive liquid-crystal display. The antiglare film is characterized by comprising a transparent base and an antiglare layer having a rugged structure, the antiglare layer comprising a binder matrix comprising a hydroxylated acrylic material and particles of an acrylic/styrene copolymer.  The antiglare film is further characterized in that the value obtained by dividing the average particle diameter of the acrylic/styrene copolymer particles (RA) by the average thickness of the antiglare layer (H), RA/H, is in the range of 0.30-0.80, and that the product of the value obtained by subtracting the average refractive index of the binder matrix (nM) from the refractive index of the acrylic/styrene copolymer particles (nA), the amount of the acrylic/styrene copolymer particles (wA) contained per 100 parts by weight of the amount of the binder matrix contained (wM), and the average thickness of the antiglare layer (H), i.e., |nA-nM|×wA×H, is in the range of 0.70-3.00.
