Abstract:
Provided is a zinc oxide element having good nonlinear resistance characteristics (V10kA/V1mA nonlinearity) without containing antimony oxide by controlling the particle size of the zinc oxide particles in the sintered body. The zinc oxide element of the present invention contains a sintered body containing zinc oxide, bismuth oxide, and zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4). The method for producing the zinc oxide element of the present invention includes sintering a raw material oxide containing zinc oxide, bismuth oxide, and tin oxide and not containing antimony oxide and segregating zinc stannate (Zn2SnO4) to the grain boundaries of the sintered zinc oxide.
