Title:
ANTISENSE MOLECULES AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING EXPRESSION OF GENE FUNCTION BY USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2001/096356
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Antisense molecules which act on both directions of the inhibition and restoration of the expression of a gene function and are capable of on/off switching appropriately depending on the external environment; and a method of reversibly controlling the expression of a gene function by using these antisense molecules. Such an antisense molecule, which has at least one sugar-base moiety consisting of a sugar and a purine or pyrimidine base bonded thereto via a glucoside bond, can bind to a gene and/or leave therefrom under the orientation control of the base moiety in the molecule by an orientation controlling factor.
